Skycut CX sticker cutting machine for printed stickers and mobile skins
Skycut CX Series – a sticker cutting machine with a camera for printed outlines and mobile skins.

A sticker cutting machine kiss-cuts vinyl, radium or a printed sheet into stickers you can weed and apply. The right machine depends on the sticker, not on a single “best” model.

This guide from Skycut India matches each sticker job to a cutter. Prices, widths and how to start a shop are in sticker cutting plotter in India. What the sticker itself is made of is in vinyl sticker.

Quick answer

What a sticker cutting machine does

The blade follows a path from your design file. On sticker vinyl it makes a kiss cut: through the face and the glue, not through the liner. You peel the waste and the sticker stays on the backing until it is applied.

That is different from a printer, which only lays down ink, and from a flatbed used for board. A kiss cutting machine guide covers the cut itself. This page is about choosing the machine around the sticker you sell.

Match the machine to the sticker

Sticker you make What the machine must do Skycut fit
Names, logos, shop lettering Cut solid vinyl from a file V24
Bike and car radium More force, slower speed, sharp blade VH Series for all-day work. See radium cutting
Printed die-cut stickers Camera finds the marks and cuts the outline C24
Mobile skins Camera contour on film CX16 / CX24
Sheets of labels and stickers Feed many copies of the same sheet A Series

How a sticker is cut

1

Make closed shapes

Text must be converted to curves. Every sticker needs a closed path the blade can follow.

2

Load the right media

Solid vinyl and radium go on a roll. Printed stickers need marks. Repeat sheets can go in an auto feeder.

3

Kiss-cut, do not slash the liner

The blade should cut the face and leave the backing. Test a small sticker before the full job.

4

Weed the waste

Peel away the extra vinyl. Small letters need a sharp blade and a cut that is deep enough to lift.

5

Transfer or sell on the liner

Apply with transfer tape, or leave kiss-cut stickers on the sheet for the customer to peel.

Blade depth is the usual mistake. If the sticker will not lift, the cut is too shallow. If the liner is sliced, the blade is too deep. Settings by vinyl type are in cutting vinyl.

Printed stickers need a camera

A solid red logo is cut from red vinyl. The file is the shape. A photo sticker is already printed, so the blade has to follow the ink. The sticker cutting machine uses a camera to see registration marks and line the cut up with that print.

Without marks, or with a cutter that has no camera, the outline drifts. Print and cut are two steps. The C Series and CX Series are the Skycut machines for that second step.

What to check before you buy

  • Roll or sheet. Names and radium are rolls. Label jobs that leave the printer as sheets need a sheet cutter.
  • Camera, only if you print first. Paying for contour cutting and then cutting only solid vinyl wastes the feature.
  • Width. A 24-inch machine covers most sticker work. Wider vinyl is for shop boards and long graphics.
  • Force for radium. Thin sign vinyl is easy. Reflective film needs a sharper blade and more force. The D Series goes up to 2000 g.
  • How many copies. A few rolls a day suit the V24. A cutter that runs all day suits the VH-24. A stack of identical sheets suits automatic feeding.

Frequently asked questions

A sticker cutting machine is a plotter that kiss-cuts sticker material. The blade cuts the vinyl or printed face and leaves the liner, so you can weed the waste and apply the sticker. Skycut roll plotters, camera contour cutters and sheet cutters are all sticker cutting machines for different jobs.

For names, logos and radium on a roll, start with the Skycut V24. If you also cut printed stickers around the artwork, choose a camera model such as the C24 or CX24. Add the A3 Max only when you are cutting the same printed sheets all day.

Yes, if it has a camera. The camera reads registration marks and cuts on the printed outline. The Skycut C Series and CX Series are built for that. A machine without a camera is for solid-colour vinyl you cut from a design file, not from a print.

The printer puts the colour on the sheet or roll. The sticker cutting machine cuts the shape. Solid-colour vinyl needs only the cutter. Printed die-cut stickers need both, plus registration marks so the cut matches the print.

Yes. Reflective film is thicker than normal vinyl, so use more force, a sharp blade and a slower speed. The V24 handles everyday bike and car radium. All-day radium is a better fit for the servo VH Series. Thick film is easier on the D Series.

No. Stickers are cut on a roll plotter or a sheet cutter. A flatbed is for rigid board and boxes. Use the F4560 or F6090 only when the material will not roll.

Final thoughts

Pick a sticker cutting machine from the sticker, then the volume. The V24 covers solid vinyl and everyday radium. Add a camera on the C Series or CX Series when the design is already printed. Use an A Series feeder when the job is a stack of sheets, and the VH Series when the cutter runs all day.
